ATHLETIC CONFERENCELincoln Junior High is a member of the Northeast Lakes Middle School Conference (NELMSC). Larry McPherron from Lincoln, and Stan Meyer from Indian Springs began to meet with the idea of forming a middle school conference. In 1996, five middle school athletic directors signed an agreement making the conference a reality. The conference began with five schools: Edgewood Middle School, Indian Springs Middle School, Lakeview Middle School, Lincoln Junior High, and Wawasee Middle School. Eventually Rochester, Tippecanoe Valley, and Whitko joined the conference. Rochester and Tippecanoe Valley have left the conference and are now members of the Running Rivers Conference. Those schools were soon replaced by three others, Milford Middle School, Crestview Middle School and Riverview Middle School. In 2015 Whitko also departed and joined the Running Rivers Conference. Whitko was replaced by Bremen. 2017 saw Crestview and Riverview depart from the Northeast Lakes Conference to join a newly formed conference that matches their high school conference. A unique feature of the NELMSC and the Running Rivers Conference, is that both conferences honor conference champions in athletics as well as champions in academic competitions.
